Much of my life has been focused on investing in, building and maintaining friendships …. and try as I might, I’ve not accomplished much. Lifelong friendships aren’t always a sure bet, so it’s probably not a bad idea to count the high cost before you commit.
INVESTMENT TRACK
I’m cleaning out my Facebook, removing faces and debris
Getting rid of stagnant friendships, the ones I never see
I’ve spent a lifetime of connecting, maintaining roads in disrepair
To conclude the ones I valued most, really didn’t care
I suppose it is my own fault, a self deception on my part
I wasn’t thinking with my head, I was thinking with my heart
The realization’s pretty heavy, as relationships were lost
So I’ll keep my mind on other things and not focus on the cost
