Eyesight

Eyesight

I’m falling into loneliness, surrounded by my own

Forgotten times of happiness, am I reaping what I’ve sown?

I’m feeling disrespected, as anger rises up to fight

Discarded and forgotten, I lay in misery throughout the night.

I cry out in desperation, yet no one seems to hear me call

A numbness overcomes me as my heart begins to fall.

No parachute can stop it, for no longer it is bound

Its’ demise is now upon it and it’s been buried in the ground.

but….

There is someone who notices, when and where the sparrow falls

His heart seeking out the lonely, a friend to all who hear Him call.

He brings healing to the wounded, a salve to a broken heart

He provides comfort to the lonely, restoring those who’ve grown apart.

He knows where my heart is buried, He’ll not leave it in the grave

But I must humble myself before Him and accept the gift He gave.
