Desperate Harvest

DESPERATE HARVEST

This didn’t seem like a dream, it was all too real…

but how did I get here, a place I’m not familiar with, a place I’ve never been to or even seen. I was standing on a hillside surrounded by what appeared to be tall stocks of wheat. A gentle breeze was blowing, causing the wheat to swirl, as though something or someone were running their fingers through it. It was dark out, but a slight glow in the distance allowed me to see the slope of the hills around me and the darkness of the valley below.

As I turned to my right to survey the field around me, I was startled by the outline of a human figure standing about 10 or 15 feet away. Since it was dark, I could only be sure it was a human form. I couldn’t tell whether it was a male or female. They were looking up, their neck stretched, their mouth gaped open as if in awe of what they were seeing. I followed their gaze up and to the left in an effort to see what they were looking at.

The night sky was clear. I immediately noticed that all of the stars in the sky were grouped together, as though they had been objects on a table that someone had thrown their arms around and pulled together into a tight circle. The stars in this circle were rotating in a counter-clockwise motion.  I wondered at what I saw but I was not fearful.   I sensed something supernatural taking place. Although I could not see a hand, I sensed a hand reaching into the circle of stars, taking a star from it and moving it across the sky to my left.  I had to turn my body and adjust my stance in order to follow it.  The star was placed in its new position with precision and purpose.  One star at a time was removed from the circle and then placed into its new position with the others.  I somehow understood the stars were being used to create letters and ultimately to form words. The letters were not letters I recognized,  but I could however, understand what had been written.  I never questioned it or had to work at putting the words together, it simply said ….

       I love you

When I read the words, I was overcome with a joy I can’t put into words. My breath was taken from me as if I were hyperventilating. With my lungs full of air, it was not enough, I felt compelled to breathe deeper and draw in more air, but I could not. It wasn’t painful or bothersome … just overwhelming. I turned to the right to look at the person who had been standing there. I was again startled to find they had moved to within an arms length of where I was standing.

The figure was staring directly at me … all I could see were their eyes. I smiled in an effort to communicate just how wonderful this experience was, as if to say, “Can you believe He wrote that to you and I”? As I looked deeper into their eyes, I sensed confusion and fear. In that moment I realized the figure did not understand what had been written. They had moved closer to me and were asking  me (with their eyes) what it meant. I shifted my eyes over the figure’s right shoulder, and saw another human figure in the distance. I slowly panned the field and saw another, then another. It was then I realized the field was full of people, all of whom had seen the heavenly display, yet I somehow knew that none of them  had understood its meaning.  At that moment, a heavy wind started to blow, it was the type of wind that precedes a coming storm. I heard the rush of the wind as it violently churned through the valley and up the hill toward where I stood. I knew the storm was on us….

      then I woke up!
